Humor and health, a great team

Does a course about humor make sense at an event that focusses on health? It definitely does!

Laughter is one of the most effective ways to reduce pain and stress. But humor also helps coping with negative feelings. For instance, when you make fun of your anxiety, you become less anxious. All this is clinically proven.

Therefore, I love the fact that I got asked by Fluor Corporation Amsterdam to give a crash course about humor during their ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ธ. The session with a diverse group of people was really enjoyable (another benefit of laughter).

This was not my first performance at the Living Well Week. Four years ago I gave a performance at the same event, when I was still a Fluor employee. At the time I thought it would be fun to the call the week 'Living Hell Week' and I appeared on stage dressed up as a cockroach. The joke didn't go as planned and for me as a performer it got quite painful. Luckily, to deal with that, I have humor and the photo's. (see second picture)
